SAWS Membership Terms

Southern Alberta Woodworkers Society (SAWS) Membership Terms

Last updated: August 2026

1. Membership

SAWS welcomes people with an interest in woodworking at all levels of experience.

Membership types, current fees, eligibility requirements and membership periods are shown when you join or manage your membership. Discounted membership types, including Student and Out-of-Town memberships, may require you to confirm that you meet the applicable eligibility requirements.

Your membership is associated with your individual SAWS account. Please keep your account and contact information current and do not share your login credentials with others.

2. Membership Fees and Automatic Renewal

Membership fees and the applicable membership period are shown before you complete a purchase or renewal.

SAWS memberships renew automatically using the payment method on file. Before your membership renews, SAWS will send you a reminder of the upcoming renewal so you have an opportunity to cancel if you do not wish to continue.

You may cancel automatic renewal at any time before your renewal date through the SAWS Member Portal or by contacting SAWS.

Cancelling automatic renewal does not end your current membership. Your membership remains active until the end of the period you have already paid for.

If the payment method on file cannot be charged, your membership may become inactive or expire until payment is completed.

3. Cancellations and Refunds

Membership fees are non-refundable once paid.

Cancelling your membership or automatic renewal stops future renewal charges but does not generate a refund for the current membership period.

SAWS may, at its discretion, approve a refund in exceptional circumstances. Nothing in these Terms limits any refund or cancellation right that may be required by law.

4. Member Benefits and Resources

Membership benefits may include meetings, presentations, member resources, recordings, discounts, shop tours, member communications, Exhibition-related benefits and other programs offered by SAWS.

Specific benefits may change from time to time as SAWS programs and services evolve.

Members-only directories, recordings, documents and other resources are provided for the personal use of SAWS members unless otherwise stated. Members must not distribute restricted member information outside SAWS or use member contact information for unsolicited commercial purposes.

5. Member Conduct

SAWS is an inclusive woodworking community. Members are expected to treat other members, guests, volunteers, presenters and partners with respect and to comply with applicable SAWS bylaws and policies.

SAWS may suspend or terminate membership where permitted by its bylaws or policies.

6. Communications

SAWS may contact you about your membership, payments, renewals, meetings, programs, elections, events and other information reasonably connected with your membership.

You may also be offered optional communications that you can subscribe to or unsubscribe from separately.

7. Privacy

SAWS collects and uses personal information as described in the SAWS Privacy Policy.

By becoming or remaining a member, you acknowledge that you have reviewed the Privacy Policy.

8. Changes to These Terms

SAWS may update these Membership Terms as its programs, policies or membership systems change.

Material changes will be communicated to members, and SAWS may require members to accept updated Terms before joining, renewing or making certain membership changes.

9. Questions

Questions about membership or these Terms may be submitted through the SAWS Contact page.
