Setup Volunteers Needed - Open

2027 Exhibition – Setup Team Volunteers Oct 4 2026

Planning is underway for the 2027 SAWS Exhibition, and we are looking for members interested in taking on key roles to help prepare for and coordinate the exhibition setup and takedown.

There are several opportunities to get involved, with roles ranging from advance preparation and logistics to helping lead activities on setup night:

  • FILLED - Setup/Takedown Supervisor – Directly supervises the setup and takedown floor and is the primary point of contact for volunteers. Assigns people, manages traffic and congestion, keeps the work organized and safe, and resolves routine issues.

  • Preparation Space Coordinator – Helps locate and arrange a suitable space where exhibition furnishings and lighting can be prepared and tested ahead of the exhibition.

  • Furnishings Manager – Coordinates preparation and any required repairs or maintenance of plinths, glass cabinets, light rails, and related equipment.

  • Transportation Manager – Coordinates trucks, drivers, and transportation of exhibition furnishings and equipment to and from the exhibition.

  • Glass Cabinet & Light Rail Setup Manager – Leads the crew responsible for assembling and taking down the glass cabinets and light rails.

  • Piece Display Manager – Coordinates placement of plinths and exhibition pieces within the display.

  • Hospitality Manager – Coordinates snacks and refreshments for volunteers and members during setup.

You don't need to have done one of these jobs before. Members with previous exhibition experience will be available to help, and there will be planning and preparation ahead of setup night.

If one of these roles sounds like something you would be interested in, or if you would like to help as part of one of the setup crews without taking on a lead role, please reach out to Carey:
