February 16, 2022 Chair Making with Doug Haslam

Doug’s presentation is based on a 2 day workshop he has taught in the past.  It will focus on the design and construction of chairs. We will begin with an introduction to ergonomics, looking at anthropometric information regarding critical human dimensions. This will be followed up with a demonstration on how to make a full scale mock-up that can be used for developing a chair design. The prototype can also be used for measuring dimensions and angles to be used in the final construction process. The presentation will conclude with demonstrations of how to cut some of the joints used.

Please feel free to contact me in advance using this link Doug Haslam with any questions you may have so that I am able to prepare material in advance.
