April 20, 2022 Stage and Screen Carpentry

  • Windsor Plywood 46 Highfield Circle Southeast Calgary, AB, T2G 5N5 Canada (map)

You’ve seen them listed in film and play credits. That’s right, “CARPENTERS”!

Attend our April meeting and get a peak behind the curtain, behind backstage, and find out what carpenters do to help create the magic in a film or play. Our guest speaker will be Clare Prosser - a man who has spent 30 years working in the Canadian theatre and film industry, building sets for plays, movies, and advertisements in Toronto, Banff Center, and Calgary to name a few. He will share with us his experiences from the perspective of a carpenter on the set. He may even tell us what a macet is!

The April meeting will be held on April 20, 2022 at Windsor Plywood, 46 Highfield Circle SE, Calgary, AB at 7:00 PM. It will also be a change for us, being both in person LIVE and VIRTUAL! For those members attending live, please, only attend the live event if you are fully vaccinated. Masks to be worn at attending members comfort level.

For those members who are out of town, not fully vaccinated, or are just not comfortable attending an in person meeting yet, you can still attend and ask questions through the live ZOOM broadcast. Clicking the Members Meeting Link below will take you to the zoom meeting details.

This will be a new experience for all of us (live and virtual at the same time) but I am sure we will get through it, and only improve as time goes on. The zoom call will be monitored so those attending virtually will have the same opportunity to ask questions as the in person attendees.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in April to talk all things woodworking.
