May 15, 2021 - Shop Tours

With snow all but gone, and not falling with great frequency any more, that must mean it is time for SHOP TOURS!

This is often the most liked and anticipated meeting of the year. Come and see the shops that your fellow members use to create their amazing projects. Everything from dedicated shops of the professional woodworker to small cubby holes of the amateur, Shop Tours is sure to give you ideas on how to improve your shop and the way you work.

Better yet - Volunteer to show off your shop. Shop tours cannot happen without members sharing their shops, how they do things, how they overcame challenges, or asking the membership how a challenge could be resolved. Please email Doug Drury if you would like to have your shop on this year’s Shop Tours. While the tours are currently scheduled from 10AM to 4 PM, please indicate in your email what time you would like to host, for how long (45 minutes was last year’s target), and if your are a Professional, Intermediate, Advanced, or Beginning woodworker. All disciplines of woodworking are welcome to participate. Furniture makers, turners, luthiers, marquetry, toy makers, and the list goes on… Last year we had 6 shops showcased on Shop Tours. Let’s see if we can equal or beat last year.

Because of COVID, once again Shop Tours will be held virtually via Zoom. If you would like your shop to be part of Shop Tours, you don’t have to be or get a professional camera crew to participate. You can participate by signing in with a cell phone/tablet/laptop. If you have a friend or significant other that can play camera person that’s great, but not required.

We will post an agenda of the shops we will be visiting closer to the event along with zoom details on how to join the tour.
