As a registered Non-Profit in the province of Alberta, SAWS must hold an Annual General Meeting (AGM) where members can receive the Annual Financial Statements and elect a Board of Directors. Notification of the AGM must be sent out to all members no less than 21 days prior to the date of the AGM.
For this meeting to be official, there must be a quorum of 25% of SAWS members either in person or on video (Zoom). Proxy votes are not allowed. Therefore, please make it a priority to attend.
The Financials for the current fiscal year along with the 2024 AGM minutes and agenda are all available for review in the member email.
We currently have a Board consisting of 9 members of which 3 will have finished their terms as of the AGM. Elections will be held to replace the exiting Board members. If you wish to help steer the organization in the upcoming term, please consider submitting your name as a candidate.
The mission of SAWS is 'Where Woodworkers Learn'. To maintain the quality programming and events that we all enjoy, a full Board is necessary.
There will be light refreshments at the meeting.
