SAWS member Ted Branton will demo scroll saw work on wall hangings, boxes and 3-D objects.  Ted will discuss

  • Scrollsaw mechanisms,
  • The base I created for mobility,
  • Scrollsaw blades (types, sizes, sources, etc.),
  • Stock preparation,
  • Patterns (sources, attachment, removal, etc.),
  • Drilling blade insertion holes (bits, location, etc.)
  • Sawing techniques,
  • Attaching cutout objects to solid backgrounds/carriers (gluing/alignment/cleanup),
  • Double sided work, stack cutting,
  • Working with thin/delicate pieces,
  • Sanding/cleanup/finishing,

Ted will also provide details on how he created his SNOWFLAKES that were displayed at the 2017 SAWS Exhibition.
