Designing and Building a Chair - John Morel
The AGM will be held on the 7th of July at John Morel's shop. He will be leading us through the process of building a chair, from design to completion. If members are so inclined they are encouraged to bring ear protection as there will be power tools being used.

Members Workshop Tours

The members' workshop tours is an annual event which is always popular.
Members in the Calgary area open up their shops for inspections. There are always great discussions about shop design, layout, projects, tools, materials, etc. This is an opportunity to learn from others.
Full details including times, locations and maps will be e-mailed to members in the week prior to the tours.

William Aberhart Woodshop Tour

The next regularly scheduled meeting will be held April 18 at the William Aberhart High School wood shop. Matt Crawly, the teacher, will show us the shop, we'll see some of the students' projects and learn currect teaching philosophies in the modern shop.

Lutherie with Tyler Langdon

Tyler began the craft of lutherie at the Violin Making School of America in Salt Lake City. This experience started a passion for making his own instruments but also encouraged a love of hand tools. Recently, Tyler has completed the restoration and refinishing of a Cello and the set up of a new violin that he made.

Herm Stolte will be presenting on furniture repair. Pick up some tips and tricks for getting those damaged and distraught pieces back into service. Herm intends to cover a range of woodwork repairs and methods ranging from veneer chips and dents to broken chairs.
