Japanese Woodworking Tools and Techniques

Wednesday March 17, 7:00 pm
Scarboro Community Hall

The March meeting should be very interesting; Robert Gurney will be speaking about Japanese hand tools and wood working methods. Gary (our president) has spent a significant amount of time in Japan. He's found their culture to be very different than ours and to be very refreshing. We're all looking forward to this topic.

2 X 4 Contest

Wednesday, February 17, 2010 7:00 pm
Scarboro Community Hall

Once again we're having the 2 x 4 Contest. The rules are simple: members build something out of a volume of wood equivalent to a 2 x 4 (2 inches by 4 inches by 8 feet). Two species of wood may be used along with a small amount of hardware if required. A panel of judges will study the pieces brought to the meeting and award prizes.

Annual Show & Tell Meeting

Wednesday, January 20, 2010
7:00 pm Scarboro Community Hall

The January meeting will be the annual "Show & Tell". This year we would like to add a theme of “antiques" to the event. That is not to say the regular fun stuff is not encouraged.

But if you have some heirloom piece or tool please bring it.
